The Liebster Award x 2 – once again {50th post- woohoo!)

I honestly love this world so much and will never skip it. It’s so unique! I would like to thank I Read Therefore I Am  and The Brown Eyed Fangirl for nominating me!

Alright, let’s get down to business (I Read Therefore I Am’s first)-

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog.
  • Give your readers 11 randoms fact about yourself
  • Answer 11 questions from the blog who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 bloggers to receive this award.
  • Come up with 11 questions for your nominees!

11 Random Facts About Me:

  1. I love Marvel, especially Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Avengers (my mom has a crush on Tony Stark and I has a deep love for Loki).
  2. I own an iPhone 4S. I’ve had it for about a year now and yeah. It’s a pretty chill phone.
  3. I feel like Universal Studios is my home and I find myself often nostalgic for it- even though I only went once when I was nine. Probably because of Hogwarts and the Dr. Seuss World. I loved those places the best. And next time I go, I am doing every. single. ride. And there shall be absolutely no stopping me.
  4. I have an unhealthy for office supplies. Staplers, tape, rubber bands, stick notes/Post-Its, paper weights, pens, Sharpies, paper clips, flash cards, those little erasers you stick on your pencil once you’ve used up the original and previous eraser- yep, I own a multitude of all of those.
  5. This is turning out harder than I expected and I am running out of facts,
  6. Have I ever mentioned that my parents are divorced and I only see my father every other weekend, one week out of my two week Winter Break, four weeks in the summer, and yearly swapped holidays? Because that’s a thing.
  7. I don’t have an Instagram. I don’t have a Pinintrest. I don’t have a FaceBook. I don’t have a SnapChat. I have a WeHeartIt (search The Writer) and a GoodReads (search for Koral). That is all.
  8. My mother checks all my books before I read them at ever since she listened to Divergent on audio after I had already read it when I was like 10 or 11.
  9. I don’t have any pets!
  10. Two songs I can never skip because they’re too beautiful and sad are Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran and Crash by You Me At Six.
  11. I currently have sunburnt arms.

The Questions (I Read Therefore I Am’s):

1. What do you look for when purchasing books?

Something my mother will likely be okay with/something she’s already checked, something I can learn from, and hopefully an eye pleasing cover, but this is not a necessity,

2. What are your bookish pet peeves?

Dog ears, spills, water damage, books that have been lent out come back destroyed (my poor Divergent), talking to me while I am obviously trying to read (yes little brother, tis you I am glaring at- you, villain!).

3. Do you prefer reading books from the first person point of view or the third person point of view?

It really depends on the book. I like first person because I tend to write in that format often (duh), but third person doesn’t bother. I like both really. Both. Both is good.

4. Do you prefer stand alone books or series?

I guess series, because that I kinda get more closure than a stand alone (*cough cough* Paper Towns *cough cough*)

5. If you could have any supernatural gift, what would it be and why?

To be able to read in the dark. I think this is self explanatory, but in short: I am a nerd-geek-dork-fangirl

6. Is there a book/series that you’d consider is your guilty pleasure?
Ha ha… Ha ha ha…. Ha ha ha ha ha… HA HA HA HA HA HA.

No not really because I am never guilty of my books. And you thought I was going to say something dirty. Cheeky 😉

7. Which books are overrated?

I guess erotica, because like… sex… it is literally you reading published porn… Why? O.o

8. If you had the opportunity to get your book published, what would your story be about?

Dude. This question is my life.

Marcy Kovak is seventeen. She was orphaned when she was thirteen. She is one of the five survivors of a plane crash that killed her brother. She thought she had no family and has been bouncing from foster home, parents and adopted parents that usually un-adopt her for over four years now. Suddenly, she finds out her grandparents are alive. And she is wanted. For once, Marcy is going to leave the United States to be apart of something hasn’t had in so long- a family. Taking a train ride to the small village (she doesn’t know where exactly) from Donegal, Marcy meets Edmund Mouse. He’s British, is polite, and basically makes me forget that she has been abused, forgotten, and left behind all her life. With Edmund, Marcy feels protected, the center of attention, and knows he would never leave her side if it they knew it each other more. But an hour long train ride (the conductor had had some troubles getting the train working) can only offer so much time for two people to get to know each other.

Edmund gets off.

Then Marcy does.

Two different stops.

Two different people.

One little Irish village.

Something Extraordinary.

BAM. You may applaud now.

9. Is there a character whose personality trait is similar yours?

I take it you mean in a book already written, and yeah, I’d have to say almost every character in every book I’ve ever read. I see a little bit of myself in every character in every book that I read: the Adventurer, the Romantic, the Warrior, the Princess, the Hero, the Villain, the Freak, the Friend… All of them show me that we all have something in common.

Whoa, stuff just got deep.

10. What is your favourite genre to read?

Say it with me people-

11. What is your reading goal for this year?

Popsugar 2015 Reading Challenge

So far I have 6/50 (rounded down that would 3/25) of the challenge done. What I have read so far is as follows:

1) A book that was originally written in a different language- Inkheart by Cornelia Funke (German)

2) A book with a number in the title- Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan (7)

3) A book that made you cry- Courage for Beginners by Karen Harrington (Mysti’s family problems. And oh yes I cried. Cried. Like. A. Baby)

4) A book with a one-word title- Maleficent by Elizabeth Rudnick (duh, look at the title)

5) A book that your mom loves- Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson (she made me read it, but I did like it)

6) A book published this year- The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige (Copyright 2015)

And of course there three more novellas and another book that I have to add to the list, but I’ll do that later.

The Questions (Brown Eyed Fangirl):

1. Favourite author?

WHy MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME? Alright, alright- I guess I’ll just do one for each gender. So it’s fair.

John Green, of course. Just…. doN’T TOUCH ME ALRIGHT

The queen herself, Mrs. J. K. Rowling. Like dude, if you’ve read all seven Harry Potter books and she isn’t your favorite, you must go get some help. Just teasing!

2. Do you have any hobbies?

Do I have hobbies? Well, I don’t know- did Katniss volunteer a tribute? The answer is yes, she did, and yes, I do have hobbies. I used to say that reading and writing and listening to music were hobbies, until I learned that no, indeed the fact of the matter is that they are obsessions. So I just hobbies of mine would include walking, biking, canoeing, cooking, and making people laugh/smile/feel better.

3. Any weird talents?

I can burp automatically (it’s crappy, but it’s something), I’m double jointed in my thumbs, and I can get a full nights rest on my period without leaking. Amazing, I know.

4. Favourite flower?

Um, wow there was this flower I looked up awhile ago and I forgot what it was called- ooh, an iris! It was some type of really pretty black and white iris. Although I do prefer dandelions and/or daisies and/or lilies. Oh looky there, I just took a playbuzz quiz for what type of flower am I, and I’m an iris. They are rather lovely…

5. Worst movie you’ve ever seen?

Wow, that’s a tough one. Um, I guess I’d have to say either either of the Spongebob Squarepants movies or some Disney Channel movie. Like Teen Beach Movie. They’re coming with a second one… ugh .-.

6. Vanilla or chocolate?

Usually depends on my mood, but right now I could use some chocolate.

7. Favourite YouTuber?

Haha, these little guys (you can not just make me pick one):

Danisnotonfire (left) and AmazingPhil (right)

TylerOakley (left) and TroyeSivan (right)

ConnorFranta (left) and Zoella (right)

I love, love, love, love all of them so, so so, so much. ❤

8. Worst fear?

Oblivion, death, eternal loneliness, never finding love, falling in love, getting hurt from life, birds, eBooks taking over the physical book market, moving, never leaving my state and never seeing the world, and finally, Miley Cyrus.

9. The first fandom you joined?

This would either be the Avatar: The Last Airbener fandom, the Disney fanatics, or (this being when I knew what fandoms actually were) either Percy Jack and the Olympians or the One Direction fam. Am I still a directioner? No. Do I hate 1D and their music and basically their entire existence? At once, yes. Now, no. They’re chill, I’m chill, everybody’s chill.

10. If you could meet any famous person, who would it be and why?

Letters of the alphabet, why must you do this to me? What have I ever done to you? Alright, alright- I would choose. Patrick Stump. And all because I have the world’s biggest crush on him and I think he’s like amazing in every way shape and form possible and meeting him would make me the happiest girl in the world.

11. Trainers or flats?

Depends on the outfit; but I do usually wear my beat up sneaks next to everywhere I go. But flats are perfect when wear an above-the-knee dress or skirt. I’m a little fashionista in training! {not} 😉

Alright, so those were my two Liebster Awards! Hope everyone enjoyed!

Signing off,

The Time Traveling Writer.

~K. A. R.

P.S. This is my 50th post. If you have been here since #1, then thank you so so much and I hope you guys keep reading this silly little blog that I made back in February when I was in Virginia and had strep throat. Love you guys- you’re all my little lovelies!

  1. Thanks for answering the questions! It was nice to read more about you 😉 and your story sounds interesting! Are you published on Fiction Press or Wattpad? I agree with you about erotica XD I think it’s been around for years but it’s only mainstream now because of 50 Shades.
