Okay… So don’t hate me for messing with you guys…

I am so sorry for saying that I’m going to be wiping my blog lately! I really hate that I left for two months and came back like I was going to delete all my history and footprints with this blog. That was very childish and not very well thought through of me. I will though be deleting some old posts that make me cringe and never got a lot of attention (if any) anyway. Please don’t hate me! And I will be updating with something book related next time, I promise. I might do a book review or one of the many things I was nominated for while I was gone (not to brag!). So sorry again for messing with everyone on this whole fiasco. Just… keep calm and stay bookish!

Okay… Looks like I had to make this decision for myself.

Hello everyone! I think this is the fastest update I’ve ever done, which is painstakingly sad. Sorry!

Alright, as I’m guessing you read the title of this post, I’ve made the decision to wipe my blog all on my own. I really wanted your guys’ feedback, but nobody really commented and I got antsy so I made this decision all on my own.

I would say by Halloween (October 31st) that this blog will be wiped. I’m not going to delete the blog itself, just all my posts. This blog has been too many things and I just don’t really like it that much anymore. I need to work on my book reviews and that is my new goal for this blog. I will do monthly favorites and books reviews, book hauls and where I’m standing in the world of writing, and, of course, blogging awards and book tags.

I’m really sorry for this and part of me really doesn’t want to do this, but another part of me tells me this really is for the best. What do you guys think?

Home is where your books are,

The Time Traveling Writer.

Long time, no blog!

Hello everyone! Yes yes, I know, I know; it has been two months since I last blogged. *gasp* I know, I am ashamed. Anyway, I have to make this quick because it is super late and I can barely think (I’m writing another new story (the like, fifth new idea this month)). But I realized a couple things while I went on hiatus:

  1. I have roughly over a hundred followers and I thank you all for that!
  2. I have not been a good blogger to my followers lately.
  3. And finally, my books reviews suck crap. :-/

Like seriously guys, why did you guys let me write those things and not delete them? They sucked total chicken feet! So I’ve been wondering, since I now know how to write better reviews (I’m taking English 1 and have reevaluated pretty much everything I’ve written and realized it sucked crap), should I just delete this blog and make a new one (don’t worry, I’d used the same name and url, just start completely anew)? Should I just delete all the old posts I don’t like and keep using this one? Should I just keeping using this one for old times sake and keep moving forward, as Louis Roberson said once in a Disney movie? Please tell me in the comments below!!! And no matter what, I will make sure I am still following all of those who I am already following!!

P.S. to everyone who has nominated me for awards, tags, and things of that nature: I promise I will do them, whether it is on this blog or the new one! Toodles! xoxo

July 2015 Favorites

Hello my beautiful little hermits! Did you miss me? *Sherlock fandom dies* Wait, didn’t I do something like that either my most recent post or my second most recent post? Ah well, not like it matters that much anyways.

So besides all that fanatical nonsense, how are all of you? It’s been awhile since my last post, but I was planning on posting sooner until my internet went out for like, three days. And it suuuuuucked chicken feet. (That’s my little saying…thing… thing, by the way.) But now it’s back on and we’re all happy!

*This is where I point to my laptop screen and you cheer*.

This is awkward.

Like, really awkward.

Awkward enough to make me leave italics.

Okay, anyywayys…

July favorites.

I have never done a favorites posts, but this really looks like fun and I feel bad for not updating more (such guilt), so I’ll give this a go for you guys! By the way, just so you little hermits can know, I might be shedding a few tears while writing because even though I haven’t even posted 50 posts yet (I know, that one time I lied- well actually I wasn’t lying then. See recently I went back and deleted some old reblogs because they were pointless (sorry everyone who I once reblogged and then deleted that reblog) and so now this would be like my 48th post and so yeah.) and already 100- YES, ONE HUNDRED- of you guys have started following or have been following me. This has blown me away and is #1 on my July Favorites. Well, you’ll see that in a moment.

So let’s get down to business!

1. 100 followers!

Omg, this is just too cute and too true- two of my favorite superheroes! In little cartoon form too!

I’m about to start crying because of this. Seriously people, why do you even follow me? I am such a sucky blogger, what with all with my spelling and grammar errors, my non-commitment that I keep saying I’ll work on but never do, and my inconstancy. But all self-loathing set aside, thank you my little hermits. This weirdo 13 year old hermit is so happy and I don’t think anyone not in the blogging community could ever understand why. So thank you, for like the fourth time now, my little hermits. You guys all rock!

2. The song Phone Call by “Forever the Sickest Kids”.

This would be a little screenshot from my phone, as it goes.

This would be a little screenshot from my phone, as it goes.

This song has inspired so many scenes for so many books of mine- and has reminded me of a lot of other books that I’ve loved reading *cough cough* If I Stay *cough cough* and some that I may have not loved so much *strained growl* Where She Went *weak cough*, and I’ve just been very obsessed with it.

3. The band twenty one pilots; just them in general.

This would be them; but don't worry! They aren't as scary or intimidating as they look! I highly recommend their song "The Judge".

This would be them; but don’t worry! They aren’t as scary or intimidating as they look! I highly recommend their song “The Judge”.

This band helps me with so much, from being inspired for a specific scene in a book that I’m struggling with writing to overcoming my own anxiety and panic attacks. This band can seriously work miracles and relate to me on levels that I didn’t even know existed within me. (Okay, so I mean like physiologically speaking; there are no physical levels inside of my humane body… wait, maybe these is. I wouldn’t even know it…)

4. Planning for the upcoming 2015 Halloween with my best friend Gracen.

If I did cosplay *cough cough* I mean, go as Captain America for Halloween, then I would probably convince someone in my family to buy me this hecka rad jacket, am I right?

If I did cosplay *cough cough* I mean, go as Captain America for Halloween, then I would probably convince someone in my family to buy me this hecka rad jacket, am I right?

We’ve been discussing Halloween costumes ever since like, last Halloween and decided that this year we shall be wearing coordinating outfits from like the same fandom. We earlier “decided” on Captain America (me) and Bucky Barnes / The Winter Solider (her), but then my mum put the idea of the new Captain Marvel (me) and new Ms. Marvel (her) and now I don’t know what to do, but I know this have been and will be fun.

5. My Avengers fanfiction.

This fanfiction is based on the events that take place after this movie, if I had it my way.

This fanfiction is based on the events that take place after this movie, if I had it my way.

Writing this fanfiction has been so fun and stress relieving for me that it’s not even funny. I spent almost an entire week working on it from like 1:00 pm to 4:00 am, and I haven’t regretted anything since. I’ve been writing for my own pleasure and also the entertainment of my friend Gracen. She has her own character who is dating Bruce Banner and I apparently (and this is according to her) am a master at killing all the feels with me being the Master of Fluff and slaying like a queen with all my kick-butt strong female protagonists.

6. Getting ready for the 2015-2016 school year.

Probably the most hipster picture I've ever added to this blog.

Probably the most hipster picture I’ve ever added to this blog; but it’s just so true.

Like most kids (and maybe a little bit more-so than my peers) I am totally wigging out over this upcoming school year. Not only am I overwhelmingly excited for it, but I’m also utterly terrified. It’s a bit exhilarating, to be quite honest. Very different from my previous years of dreading summer and only wanting school and more school. I thrive off of knowledge, okay? I mean I appreciate summer once it’s like two weeks in, but usually I get bored after awhile. I’m a very odd person, if you haven’t noticed yet.

7. My stuffed animal bear, Steve!

Say hi to Steve, guys! *makes Steve waves at computer screen* And this is why I'm going to die alone.

Say hi to Steve, guys! *makes Steve wave at computer screen* And this is why I’m going to die alone.

Yes, you guessed it. Steve is named after my favorite Avenger, superhero of all time, and major crush (both in the MCU and in the comics)- Steven Grant Rogers, aka Steve Rogers. Or as he is even more commonly known as, Captain America. I’m a sucker for good Ol’ Cap. I swoon, I sigh, I ogle, I stare, and I write fanfiction. This would be the pain of being a fangirl. I mean, Chris Evans is literally Captain America in the modern era. Absolute perfection. Steve (back to the bear) is one of the best friends I have and cuddles with me on a regular basis. I pretend that Cap gave him to me as a birthday present because that’s just how sad of a person I am.

8. We Bare Bears.

This show, along with Steven Universe, has taken over and completely ruined me and my (now non-existent) social life.

This show, along with Steven Universe, has taken over and completely ruined me and my (now non-existent) social life.

This show is just too awesome to not mention. It’s debut episode I missed, but I have been catching up since and I love it! Talking bears who just wanna have fun. It’s pure genius, and just another little cute cartoon fandom Cartoon Network has convinced me to join; along with Steven Universe and the Amazing World of Gumball. I love Pan-Pan (the panda) and his strong need and wish for finding true love and Ice-Bear (the polar bear) and his mysterious and vague personality that makes you laugh at everything he says- and he speaks in 3rd person and if that doesn’t make this show like 333% funnier, then I don’t know what will. Griz (the grizzly bear) is alright, I just find his ignorance and sometimes arrogance a little bit overbearing (AHAHAHA, really crappy bear puns about a bear show) and overwhelmingly exhausting sometimes. But this show is totally A+ in every other way.

9. Ant-Man: The most epic “little guy” movie I’ve seen since Ant Bully.

Why this poster is my favorite, I don't know. Just is, I guess.

Why this poster is my favorite, I don’t know. Just is, I guess.

This movie, like omfg. Just- YES! This is another superhero that I’m down with.

“Baskin Robbins always finds out, bro.”

I could just not stop laughing for the entire movie. This is Marvel as one of its bests. Scott Laang is not only ranking maybe #2 on my favorite superhero list, but I think he should win Superhero Father of the Year award this year. And like, all the other awards too. “ALL THE AWARDS. GIVE THE MAN ALL THE AWARDS,” the teenage girl whispered to her laptop screen at 2:22 am while flailing her arms around silently. And that’s when she realized, she was legitimately insane and would never get married. Then again, is it legal to marry pizza?

And that's all for now folks. I've been writing this way too early in the morning and I need my beauty sleep. G'night- er, G'Morning hermits. Sleep well and wake up refreshed.

(#1) Beautiful People || July 2015

Hello my lovely little hermits! How have you been? I would love to hear what you all have been up to in the comments. Anyway  today I shall be being the Beautiful People thing from Paper Fury, where I found this thing. Actually I keep seeing this things everywhere, every single month, and I always want to do and today I have decided to finally stop wishing and start doing (a favorite quote of mine, actually). So today I shall be answering these questions for a character who I have in my Avengers fanfiction but she one day will have her own story/be part of one of my many books in the making. So here’s a little information about Pax just so you guys’ know who the sam heck I’ll be talking about:

My character’s name is Pandora Pax “Pax” (that’s her nickname) Rogans. Pax is a SHIELD agent and is best friends with Doctor Fable Mills, a SHIELD scientist and girlfriend to Bruce Banner. Pax is only known as “Pax” for most of the fanfiction, all up until she is kidnapped by HYDRA and experimented on. The reason behind her hiding her true name from the rest of the world is because before she didn’t want to endanger her family, even though they abused her in many ways. Though this ends not being a legitimate reason during the fic, seeing as her family was murdered by Loki in the past (whole other story), but she justifies it now as the girl with that name is someone who doesn’t exist anymore-the little girl from the slums named Pandora died along with her family.

Pax is very in control of her outward emotions for the most part, but sometimes slips up due to her anxiety (of almost every kind), PTSD, insomnia, and depression. She is flirty, mysterious, sarcastic, stubborn, determined, ambitious, and very realistic. Pax is troubled and is a little rough around the edges, but once you get to know her (after like two or three years-unless you’re the Avengers of course), she’s a real sweetheart.

So I won’t say anything more about her since I’ll probably write her in the future posts like this and I wouldn’t want to be repeating anything, so let’s get down to business!

beautiful people

1. What’s their favourite ice cream flavour?

Pax is known infamously for her sweet tooth, so it surprises everyone vastly when she confesses that she really only likes plain vanilla ice cream. True, she’s okay with variations of vanilla (French Vanilla, Vanilla Bean, etc.) but other than that she doesn’t like anything else. 2. Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where are they going? What are they wearing? Who will they be with?

Being the secluded little special snowflake (she’s not gay; just special and white) that Pax is, when she goes out she only likes to go out with no more than three people at a time. Usually her first three choice are (in no particular order at the moment) Steve, Fable, or Clint and Natasha (she has come to terms and accepts that the two come as a package; and no in the fic Nat and Clint are not dating-I have seen Age of Ultron and respect most of it wholeheartedly).

Pax likes the idea of going to a bar when she feels like, but she rarely actually goes. She likes late night dates with Steve at the cafe place by their apartment complex, or going to concerts with whoever is okay with driving her home from her getting drunk at while singing and dancing along with the performers (usually Nat & Clint or Steve). Although, the most perfect “nights out” for her are the most kinds of nights out: going to training room at SHIELD really late at night and practicing her knife throwing skills while he throws down with the punching bag; going to the book store with Fable and reading in the cafe on their days off; having nights in with Steve in their apartment and her catching him up on all the great TV shows and movies that he’s missed since being frozen (their favorite show to watch is Doctor Who because of how both of them can relate to the characters and their troubles, and their favorite movie is Breakfast At Tiffany’s because of its set in a time not so long after the 40’s and Steve likes how he can understand it better than most of the more modern things.); or hanging with the rest of the Avengers after work and letting loose a little bit.

And here is a (sucky) little collage I made of Pax’s more casual style.

3. Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Do they wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Are they in socks that are ratty and full of holes? What do they consider comfortable and what do they consider agony?

Pax wears shoes like combat boots or sneakers. Her socks are usually soft ankle socks unless she’s going out on a tough mission and she’s wearing her boots; then her socks are thin and holy. *angel choir sings in the background* And she doesn’t really notice if shoes are uncomfortable because of how she has to wear a variety of shoes for her missions and her feet are naturally so sore that she doesn’t even notice anymore. 4. Do they have any birthmark or scars? Where are they and how did they get them?

Pax has multiple scars from her most of her mission but doesn’t mind them. She’s gotten used to them being apart of her, and you could ask her where each one came from and she can relive the entire day for you to learn how and where she got them. She doesn’t really have any birthmarks, but as she tells Steve when he pesters her about it’s not right on how scars she has:

“I can’t remember a day that I didn’t have scars because of my father and mother. My scars are like birthmarks, since I don’t have any of those. Not everyone understands why I’m okay with having them or why I don’t care, but before I was ten years old I had a knife driven through the back of my calf and I barely shed three tears. The person who drove that knife through my skin was my very own father, too. If that doesn’t explain why I’m the way that I am, I don’t know what will. People like me understand; scars come along as a reminder of the lifestyle you live in my line of work. That’s just how it is and who I am, Steve. Why can’t you understand that?”

5. What kind of music do they listen to? Does it change depending on their mood or is it always consistent? (Feel free to share samples!)

Pax listens to very angry and loud rock music, along with some alternative. Here’s a little playlist I made up for her (she naturally puts in on shuffle but I’m writing in alphabetical order):

  • You Need Me, I Don’t Need You by Ed Sheeran
  • Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy
  • Your Song by Ellie Goulding (originally by Elton John)*

Sorry that was such a long playlist, but it needed to be written. And the whole * thing at the end of some songs is because she mostly started to listen to those kind of love songs more voluntarily or not skip them once her and Steve become a thing.

6. Do they have any musical talent? Play an instrument? How’s their singing voice?

Pax can very slowly play the piano, but she’s not very good. She can sing if she wants to, but often tells people she can’t s and fakes at singing horribly. 7. What kind of book would you catch them reading?

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.

Legend by Marie Lu.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chboksy.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

8. How would they spend their summers (or their holidays)?

Pax would mostly hang out with her friends, catch up on reading, and still train. (Also going back and forth between catchup on lost sleep and avoiding it because of nightmares.) 9. It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Give details. Ex. If they’re eating breakfast, what’s on the menu? Are they hiking, shopping, lazing around?

To be honest, Pax would probably still be at SHIELD either training, filling out paperwork, or out on a mission. A day off for Pax is rare, so whenever she gets one she sleeps in until noon and when she wakes up, Steve is making her lunch (which she hates it he does that because she knows she can take care of herself, but she’s secretly flattered) and after that they do some couple thing and then Steve gives me a massage and they usually end up falling asleep on the couch after staying up from watching Netflix.

10. Is there anything your character wants to be free of?

Pax wants to be free of the mental illnesses that fill her head and make working for her dream job a challenge and be free of the nightmares that plague her sleep (so cliche, I know).

The Pastry Book Tag!! (omg, I’m already getting hungry… nom nom nom)

Hello hermits, it is I, the ever-most magical and wonderful Koral (or time traveling writer; whichever you prefer). Yesterday I was tagged from the very first Pastry Book Tag that was created by one of my favorite and best blogging friends: Aine from Writing On a Vintage Typewriter!! Aine has to be probably my favorite person on WordPress- not only are her reviews completely honest and awesome, but her book tags are hilarious with her commentary and I love her quirky titles for things. Basically, I ramble a lot about how awesome people are (especially Aine) while overusing the word awesome and so let’s get down to business and get our book tagging on!

The Pastry Book Tag

Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) loves.

I want to agree with Aine and say the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling, but to keep things diverse, I’m going to say the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series by Rick Riordan. I devoured these books as a kid, and fell in love with The Heroes of Olympus series when it came out. And the fan base is huge! (And we have the best fan art- just saying.)

Macaron: Name a book that was hard to get through but worth it at the end.

Well this isn’t really a book. . . Well then again maybe it is. Anyways, I have to say Four by Veronica Roth. I got so confused on so many parts- it’s just not even funny. Like come on Four, not everyone is as smart as you (*cough cough* show off *cough cough*)

Vol-au-vent: Name a book that you thought would be amazing but fell flat.

Hands down The Heir by Kiera Cass. I thought I would love Eadlyn, but instead I want to claw her eyes out. I sympathize and understand her on some levels, but screaming at your parents when they try to explain to you that they need you to do something for the greater good of your country while you are in training to be the next queen- all the while THEY LOOK PAINED??? Rude little chicken butt. . .

Pain au chocolat: Name a book that you thought would be one thing but turned out to be something else.

As always, I have to include this book because what would be a Time Traveling Writer’s book tag without this book: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I fell in love with this book the way that one holds a someones heart- slow and steadily, delicately and carefully, all the while with care and compassion. (Omg that was smooth and deep and like what. And that whole thing with holding a persons heart was figurative and not literal. At all. I’m not a murderer.)

Profiterole: Name a book or series that doesn’t get enough attention.

I can’t help but agree with Aine here- The Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige. I mean, it’s just so fabulous. And the fan art could be so amazing if somebody would just make some.

Croquembouche: Name a book or series that’s extremely complex.

Um, I guess I’m going to have to agree with Aine again and The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Although while it is rather complex when you think about it, I understood all of it fairly quickly and well enough.

Napoleon: Name a movie or TV show based off a book that you liked better than the book itself.

I really have enjoyed The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins movies a lot better than the books. Just that kind of action has always been better visualized.

Empanada: Name a book that was bittersweet.

No explanation required: Paper Towns by John Green.

Kolompeh: Name a book or series that takes place somewhere other than your home country:

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. This book takes place somewhere in Europe and just, it is a rare beauty that one can only find once in a lifetime.

Pate a Choux: Name one food from a book or series that you would like to try.

I really would like to try Dauntless cake from Divergent by Veronica Roth. In my mind, I think it would be chocolate but I don’t know.

I Tag. . .

The Beautiful Blogger Award!

Alright guys, I don’t want to really drag this alone, so I’m going to give short and quick answers and once again, I’m really lazy and shall not be nominating anyone actually I will be nominanting people because people rock! So let’s get down to business!

The Beautiful Blogger Award

Here are the rules:

1. Link to the blogger who nominated you.

2. List seven random facts about you.

3. Nominate seven creative, beautiful bloggers, and notify them

So I was nominated by Rachana from Addicted to YA, And this seems easy enough, so here I go (btw, all these answers shall be bookish, and more like what’s I’ve been reading or stuff about my Goodreads):

And that’s all I can think of for now. Contrary to my earlier statement, I shall not be nominating anyone for this post- WAIT. I know I did this last time and it legitimately sucks, but if you have read this entire thing and you’ve already liked/are about to like it- THEN I NOMINATE YOU MY GOOD SIR. But you see there’s a catch because there’s always a catch and so you are nominated only if you’re liked this post by now/still reading and know you’re going to like it and if you are within the first seven people to like it. Alright, this post really sucks but whatever.
